«Asemic Bodies»
Writing Systems and Bodies
It is a conceptual thread related to the representation of human figures in combination with elements inspired by writing systems, sometimes approaching what is known as «asemic writing». Some of these motifs develop independently within other artwork series and thematic lines such as Lands and Times.
These visual elements take as a reference obsolete or endangered writing systems. An edition of this project was carried out during the BME Residency (Budapest University of Technology and Economics) at AQB (Art Quarter Budapest) under the theme "The World of Fractals" in collaboration with the Department of Stochastics of the Faculty of Mathematics. Some of the results have been presented in other contexts, such as the exhibition Pixels in the Pines at Outline Open-Air Festival, Moscow Region, Russia.

Creative Process
After the initial modifications, the main challenge was to provoke different levels of iteration and recursion. Since repetition made it possible to generate variations from the original element, one approach was to create an appearance of three-dimensionality.
On the other hand, because the images were taken from screenshots of a video animation, recursion is not perceptible in the still image. To introduce greater complexity in the variation of the repetitions of the original element, different attributes were applied to various layers where the video animations played at different temporalities, along with color modifications. Another strategy was to apply a delay to the iterations while also combining this effect with different blending properties between layers.
Iterations on characters of the writing systemBuhid
Fractal inspiration was carried out towards the human figure through models taken from anonymous people, who –on the one hand are part of series of paintings (bodies)– as well as digitalized files in the characters that would be part of the work.
In a subsequent process, the anonymous bodies acquire movement to create small sequences of movement; the human body will be modified, repeated, iterated and reproduced with parameters similar to writing systems to create animations with all these elements.

"A"
The main piece created during the residency is inspired by an interpretation of the "Collage Theorem" based on the letter "A" of the Buhid alphabet. It consists of an installation composed of 12 screens arranged in the shape of an "A", where looping sequences are projected. These sequences explore fractal evolutions of the Buhid writing system, integrated with moving human figures, creating a dialogue between writing, geometry and corporality.
